About Us
Mendelsohn’s Shoppe has been a beloved cornerstone of Jerusalem’s Givat Shaul neighborhood since 1969, founded by Rabbi Meir and Malka Mendelsohn with a simple yet enduring vision: to serve kosher dairy comfort food that brings families together. What started as a modest spot for fresh slices and warm hospitality has grown into a go-to destination for pizzas, pastas, salads, and more, all made with quality ingredients and the same family pride that locals have trusted for generations. Today, we blend that rich tradition with modern convenience, offering dine-in meals, speedy delivery, catering for every celebration, and frozen take-home options that let you enjoy our flavors anytime.
“Our mission is to nourish both body and spirit through wholesome, high-quality food—guided by timeless values, heartfelt hospitality, and a deep love for community.”
Our commitment goes beyond the plate—we’re about creating moments of joy, whether it’s a quick lunch for busy workers, a hearty family dinner, or platters that make your simcha unforgettable. Rooted in community values and culinary excellence, Mendelsohn’s Shoppe remains a place where every bite feels like home, crafted daily with care in the heart of Jerusalem.

Our Founders
Rabbi Meir & Malka Mendelsohn
In 1969, Rabbi Meir Mendelsohn—a dedicated talmid chacham and community pillar—teamed up with his wife Malka to open Mendelsohn’s Shoppe in Brooklyn, filling a neighborhood need for quality kosher pizza with falafel and fries from a modest oven. Guided by integrity, hospitality, and a passion for nourishing body and spirit, they built a legacy of wholesome dairy food that rabbanim and families alike trusted implicitly.
